Job summary

WSP in South Africa is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer/Technologist/Technician to join our Property & Build Services team. You will design and deliver high-reliability electrical power systems for data centres and industrial projects, focusing on MV/LV distribution, standby generation, UPS, and switchgear.

You will collaborate with a global team, manage work packages, and engage clients to ensure safe, compliant designs. Applicants should have a minimum BSc Eng/B.

Qualifications

• Minimum BSc Eng. or B. Tech in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Registration with ECSA (Pr.Eng or Pr.Tech Eng) advantageous.
• 7+ years consulting engineering experience with building services.
• Experience in data centre environments is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, SANS and BS standards for MV/LV power systems.
• Ability to lead project teams and engage with clients.

Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical designs from concept through detailed design and construction support.
• Collaborate with a global multi-disciplinary team of engineers on a project and coordinate designs.
• Deliver projects from inception to close-out with guidance from senior engineers, focusing on Data Centre projects.
• Engage with clients and professional teams, ensuring clear technical communication.
• Perform and support power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash).
