Job summary

WSP in Africa seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer/Technologist/Technician to join our Property & Build Services team in South Africa. You will provide strong technical input into the design and delivery of high-reliability electrical power systems across data centre and industrial infrastructure projects.

Support the design and coordination of medium and high voltage systems, focusing on resilience, redundancy, and operational continuity where power failure has significant impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level electrical engineering degree required.
• 7+ years consulting experience in building services/industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical designs from concept through detailed design and construction support.
• Coordinate with global multidisciplinary team and lead defined work packages for Data Centre projects.
• Perform power system studies (load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash).
• Assist in MV/LV system specification and integration (transformers, standby gen, UPS, switchgear).
