Placements24 is seeking a Lead E-commerce Platform Developer for on-site work in Cape Town. You will architect, develop, and maintain scalable e-commerce systems, guiding a skilled team to deliver high-performance, secure online shopping experiences.

The role demands 7+ years in web development with leadership experience, expertise in Magento/Shopify Plus, PHP, Python, JavaScript, and cloud platforms. Collaboration with product, design, and ops is essential.

Formación

• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in web development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or team lead role.
• Extensive experience with e-commerce platforms (Magento, Shopify Plus, custom solutions) and their underlying technologies.
• Proficiency in programming languages (PHP, Python, JavaScript) and frameworks (Laravel, React, Node.js).
• Strong understanding of database technologies (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and API integrations.
• Demonstrated experience in leading development teams, project management, and agile methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to architect complex systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is highly desirable.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Must be able to work on-site in Cape Town, Western Cape.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of new features and functionalities for the e-commerce platform.
• Oversee the technical architecture and ensure the scalability, performance, and reliability of the platform.
• Mentor and guide a team of junior and senior developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Implement and enforce coding standards, best practices, and conduct thorough code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the e-commerce ecosystem.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact and integration.
• Ensure the security and integrity of customer data and payment processing systems.
