Qualifications

• 7+ years in e-commerce management with leadership experience.
• Proven experience managing large-scale e-commerce platforms (Shopify Plus, Magento, SFCC).
• Strong web analytics and CRO expertise.
• Excellent project management and stakeholder collaboration.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Cape Town, Western Cape.
• MBA is a plus.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in the Cape Town, Western Cape e-commerce scene, is actively seeking a visionary Lead E-commerce Platform Manager. This role is critical for overseeing the strategy, development, and performance of our client's primary online retail platform. You will be responsible for ensuring a seamless, user-friendly, and conversion-optimized customer journey, directly impacting revenue growth and customer satisfaction. This is a demanding, on-site position based in the vibrant city of Cape Town, Western Cape, requiring full engagement with the team and the operational aspects of the e-commerce business. The successful candidate will lead a dedicated team, driving innovation and maintaining the platform's integrity and competitive edge in a fast-paced market. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of the company's e-commerce platform.
• Lead a team of e-commerce specialists, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
• Drive initiatives to improve website user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design for maximum conversion.
• Manage platform integrations with various third-party services, including payment gateways, shipping providers, and marketing automation tools.
• Develop and execute A/B testing strategies to continuously optimize website performance and features.
• Monitor key e-commerce metrics, such as conversion rates, average order value, customer acquisition cost, and customer lifetime value.
• Collaborate with marketing, sales, and IT departments to ensure alignment of platform activities with overall business objectives.
• Stay abreast of the latest e-commerce technologies, trends, and best practices to identify opportunities for innovation.
• Ensure the platform is secure, reliable, and compliant with all relevant regulations.
• Manage the e-commerce platform's budget and resources effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA is a plus.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in e-commerce management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience managing and optimizing large-scale e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify Plus, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud).
• Strong understanding of web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics).
• Demonstrated experience with UX/UI principles and conversion rate optimization (CRO) techniques.
• Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage complex initiatives.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Experience with SEO best practices as they relate to e-commerce platforms.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.Must be based in or willing to relocate to Cape Town, Western Cape.
