About the Role

Our client, a premier provider of corporate facility services in the scenic city of Cape Town, Western Cape , is actively seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Cleaning Operations Manager. This senior position will oversee the entirety of cleaning operations for a portfolio of high-profile commercial properties, ensuring immaculate environments that meet the highest standards of hygiene and presentation. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic planning, operational execution, team leadership, and financial oversight of the cleaning department. This role demands a forward-thinking leader with a deep understanding of operational efficiency, staff management, and client satisfaction in the competitive Cape Town market. You will play a crucial role in driving innovation, implementing best practices, and ensuring the consistent delivery of exceptional cleaning services across various prestigious locations.

Key Responsibilities

Direct and manage all cleaning operations across multiple sites in Cape Town , ensuring consistent service quality and client satisfaction. Develop and implement strategic operational plans, setting performance goals and objectives for the cleaning teams. Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a large team of cleaning staff and supervisors, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Oversee budget management, including resource allocation, cost control, and financial reporting for the cleaning division. Establish and maintain rigorous quality control measures, conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective actions as needed. Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, including the safe use of chemicals and equipment. Manage supplier relationships and procurement of cleaning supplies, equipment, and technology, seeking cost-effective solutions. Collaborate with other department managers to ensure seamless facility management and integration of cleaning services. Act as the primary point of contact for key clients regarding cleaning services, addressing concerns and proactively identifying opportunities for service enhancement. Analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement, driving continuous enhancement of services.

Requirements

Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in cleaning operations management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role. Demonstrated experience managing large teams in a commercial or industrial setting, preferably within South Africa . In-depth knowledge of cleaning technologies, sustainable practices, and industry-specific health and safety standards. Proven ability to develop and execute operational strategies, manage budgets, and achieve financial targets. Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making. Experience with tender processes and client relationship management is essential. A relevant tertiary qualification in Hospitality Management, Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Proficiency in relevant software, including MS Office Suite and operational management systems. Adaptability to a hybrid work model, balancing on-site supervision with administrative responsibilities in Cape Town .
