Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer with expertise in roads and pavements to join our client in Upington, Northern Cape. The role covers planning, design, and supervision of road infrastructure projects to support regional connectivity.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Pr Eng registration, and at least six years of experience, with hands-on experience in pavement design software and AutoCAD Civil 3D. Travel to project sites will be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is essential.
• Minimum 6 years of roads and pavements experience.
• Experience with pavement software and geometric design tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan road alignments and pavement structures.
• Conduct pavement analysis and design using industry software.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Oversee road construction activities and QA.
• Perform site investigations and material testing.
• Conduct traffic studies and safety analyses.
• Ensure compliance with SANS and road guidelines.
• Manage schedules, budgets, and resources.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and authorities.
• Mentor junior engineering staff.
