Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch).
• SACAP registration is mandatory.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant architectural experience, with at least 5 years in a lead or senior capacity on mixed-use projects.
• Expertise in architectural design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, 3ds Max, and Lumion.
• Strong understanding of building construction methods, materials, and systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead design teams and manage complex project workflows.
• Excellent understanding of South African building regulations and planning policies relevant to Tembisa.
• Exceptional client-facing and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to problem-solve and make sound design decisions under pressure.
• A robust portfolio showcasing innovative and successful mixed-use developments.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design for significant mixed-use development projects from inception to completion.
• Direct and coordinate design teams, including junior architects and external consultants.
• Develop design concepts, master plans, and detailed architectural drawings and specifications.
• Present design proposals and project updates to clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant building codes, planning regulations, and accessibility standards.
• Oversee the construction administration phase, ensuring adherence to design intent and quality standards.
• Collaborate with structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers to integrate building systems effectively.
• Manage project timelines and contribute to budget control throughout the design and construction process.
• Champion the integration of sustainable design strategies and technologies into projects.
