Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Architect for a dynamic team in Midrand, Gauteng. You will lead architectural projects from concept to completion, ensuring environmental and aesthetic standards are met.

The role requires a strong portfolio in innovative, eco-conscious building design, with 10+ years of experience and a proven ability to manage multiple projects with stakeholders and construction teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Architecture or related field.
• Registration with SAIA or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive architectural experience, with at least 3 years in lead/senior role.
• Proven experience in sustainable design and green building certifications (e.g., Green Star SA).
• Proficiency in industry-standard software: AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong knowledge of SA building codes, zoning, and construction methods for SA.
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Portfolio showcasing innovative and sustainable architectural projects.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and develop innovative architectural designs for urban development with sustainability focus.
• Lead and mentor a team of architects and designers.
• Oversee project documentation including drawings, specs and presentations.
• Conduct site analysis and feasibility studies; ensure compliance with local codes in Midrand, Gauteng.
• Manage timelines and budgets; coordinate with consultants and contractors.
• Present design proposals to clients and stakeholders; respond to feedback.
• Ensure designs integrate sustainable principles like energy efficiency and water conservation.
• Stay abreast of latest architectural trends and sustainable practices.
