Job summary

Crew Life at Sea Ltd. is seeking a Head Baker to lead all bakery operations aboard our diverse culinary venues. You will oversee production, schedules, quality, and guest-focused menu development while maintaining top hygiene standards.

You will manage a team of bakers and pastry staff, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation across outlets, and adapting recipes for guest preferences and dietary needs in a fast-paced maritime environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive professional baking experience including bread, pastry, and dessert production.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients and recipe development.
• Formal culinary training and relevant certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee bakery operations, production, baking schedules and quality control.
• Prepare and bake a variety of bread, pastries, cakes and desserts with consistent quality.
• Collaborate on menu planning and development with the culinary team to update offerings.
• Manage bakery inventory, supplies, equipment and ordering to maintain freshness.
• Continuously develop new recipes to meet guest preferences and dietary needs.
• Lead, train and mentor bakery staff to ensure growth and baking excellence.
• Implement strict quality control with taste testing and visual inspections.
• Ensure hygiene and safety in line with food safety standards and cleanliness.
• Oversee bakery equipment maintenance and report issues promptly.
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate bakery operations for events.
