Job summary

The Stellenbosch Hotel in Stellenbosch is seeking a Kitchen Sculler on an on-site permanent contract. The role focuses on keeping the kitchen clean, organized and hygienic, supporting the kitchen team, and maintaining inventory of clean wares.

Key duties include washing dishes and utensils, maintaining floors and work areas, ensuring an adequate supply of clean dishes, disposing of waste properly, storing chemicals safely, and helping tidy storage areas while complying with health and safety

Qualifications

• Matric/NQF 4
• At least 1 years’ experience in a kitchen or scullery (advantageous)
• Ability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays when required.
• Clean criminal record

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans and other kitchen equipment thoroughly and efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen including floors, work areas and storage spaces
• Ensure an adequate supply of clean dishes, glassware, and utensils for service.
• Properly dispose of kitchen waste and maintain waste management systems.
• Store cleaning chemicals and kitchen equipment safely according to regulations.
• Support kitchen staff by organizing and tidying up storage areas
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, health and safety regulations.
