About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Operations Supervisor to manage the day-to-day activities of their busy catering kitchen in Mahikeng . This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient production of high-quality food for various events, maintaining stringent hygiene standards, and leading a team of kitchen staff. You will work closely with the Head Chef and management to optimize workflow, control costs, and ensure the smooth operation of all kitchen functions. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong organizational skills and a commitment to culinary excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the kitchen team, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, ensuring adherence to recipes and quality standards.
• Maintain strict compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations, conducting regular checks and implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Assist in managing inventory, including receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
• Oversee the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and facilities, ensuring a safe and sanitary work environment.
• Train new kitchen staff on proper procedures, techniques, and safety protocols.
• Support the Head Chef in menu execution, production planning, and cost control initiatives for all catering orders.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a commercial kitchen or catering environment.
• Solid understanding of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and presentation standards.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and sanitation best practices.
• Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
