Placements24 is seeking a Junior Telecoms Network Analyst to join their team in Port Elizabeth. The role focuses on monitoring, analysis, and support to ensure network stability and performance in a dynamic telecommunications environment.

The successful candidate will work with senior analysts, gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard tools and technologies while developing communication and reporting skills for a critical infrastructure context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and network hardware (routers, switches).
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting and collaboration.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work setting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and systems for anomalies and potential issues using specialized software tools.
• Analyze network traffic and system logs to identify trends, performance bottlenecks, and security threats.
• Generate regular reports on network health, availability, and performance metrics.
• Assist in troubleshooting network problems, escalating issues to senior team members when necessary.
• Support the implementation and configuration of network monitoring tools and agents.
• Maintain accurate records of network configurations and system changes.
