About the Role

Our client is looking for an enthusiastic Junior Telecoms Technician to join their team in Port Elizabeth . This is an excellent opportunity for an individual starting their career in the telecommunications industry. You will assist senior technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure. This role requires hands-on work on-site and offers valuable training and exposure to various aspects of telecom operations. You will be an integral part of a team dedicated to maintaining high service standards for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation, configuration, and testing of telecommunications equipment, including cabling, routers, and switches.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and diagnostics on network infrastructure under the supervision of senior staff.
• Respond to service calls to troubleshoot and repair customer service issues on-site.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and inventory of parts used.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company procedures during site visits and work activities.
• Learn and apply new technical skills and knowledge related to telecommunications systems.

Requirements

• A relevant technical qualification or certification in Electronics, Telecommunications, or IT.
• Basic understanding of telecommunications principles and network fundamentals.
• Familiarity with hand tools and testing equipment used in the field.
• Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn and take direction.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team on-site in Port Elizabeth.
