Job summary

BCXP is seeking a Tech Officer: Jnr Customer Engineer (FS) to support onsite operations and remote diagnostics under supervision, ensuring contract service levels are met. You will maintain the CMDB, install hardware and software, and assist technicians via Remedy and customer software, with a focus on timely SLA delivery.

Travel locally is required; a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are essential. A minimum NQF4/Grade 12 or National Diploma plus key certifications are expected.

Qualifications

• NQF 4: Grade 12 National Diploma required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience installing hardware solutions in a retail environment.
• Certifications include COMPTIA, MS MCSE/MCSA and Linux LPIC 1/2 or CompTIA Linux+.

Responsibilities

• Maintain configuration management system and CMDB using OS, hardware, tools and documentation.
• Perform full range of tasks to operate and control installed hardware and software.
• Ensure tasks and procedures meet service levels and client requirements.
• Follow installation plans and verify items match described instructions.
• Continually install or remove hardware/software per installation instructions and standards.
• Provide remote support to technicians using Remedy and customer software packages; drive SLA.
