Job summary

Mimecast Limited in Johannesburg is seeking an Associate Systems Administrator to support reliability, security, and day-to-day operations of the business-critical systems powering our Global Technical Services function. You will collaborate with the Business Systems Administrator on ticketing, telephony, knowledge management, log analysis and lab environments.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years hands-on systems administration or IT support in SaaS or business settings.
• Experience administering at least one enterprise platform (helpdesk, telephony, or knowledge management).
• Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python, Bash) and REST API familiarity.
• Understanding of ITIL incident, request, and change management.
• Strong troubleshooting and clear written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently on defined tasks within a remote, global team.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support enterprise helpdesk, telephony, and knowledge management platforms.
• Handle first-line escalation, requests, access tasks, and stakeholder status updates.
• Produce recurring and ad hoc reports using Zendesk Explore or SIEM tools.
• Develop simple scripts to automate repetitive tasks and assist integrations.
• Follow change management processes with risk assessments and rollback plans.
• Maintain documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
