Job summary

The Recruitment Council is seeking a Junior IT Field Technician for our Centurion client. This role combines on-site client visits with remote troubleshooting to deliver fast and reliable technical support.

You will diagnose hardware, software, and connectivity issues, install and configure PCs and peripherals, and maintain up-to-date documentation. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential, with CompTIA A+ and Network+ required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year hands-on experience as an IT field technician.
• CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ are required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for daily on-site travel.
• Experience with Windows and Linux environments is advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues both on-site and via remote desktop tools.

Our client, a leading national IT company based in Centurion, is seeking an energetic and dedicated Junior IT Field Technician to join their technical support team. This hands-on role combines daily on-site travel to client sites with remote troubleshooting to ensure fast and reliable technical assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

• On-Site & Remote Support: Diagnose and resolve technical hardware, software, and connectivity problems both on-site and via remote desktop tools.
• System Installation & Configuration: Assemble, install, and configure computer systems, peripheral devices, and internal hardware components.
• Testing & Deployment: Test and stage newly acquired or repaired hardware prior to deployment to verify system stability.
• Scheduled Maintenance & Cycle Calls: Conduct routine cycle calls and preventative maintenance checks across client locations.
• Operating System Support: Maintain, update, and troubleshoot issues across Windows and Linux environments.
• Ticket & Asset Tracking: Document all service visits, resolution steps, and hardware inventory adjustments within the ticketing system.
• Client Relations: Act as a professional face of the company on-site, providing clear updates and basic system training to end users.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience as an IT field technician.
• Certifications: CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ (N+) are strictly required.
• Mobility: Must possess a valid driver’s license and your own reliable vehicle for daily on-site travel.
• Technical Skills: Practical experience working with both Windows and Linux operating systems is highly beneficial.
