Job summary

BVi Consulting Engineers Central (Pty) Ltd in Bloemfontein is seeking a Junior Electrical Technologist for a permanent role at our Bloemfontein office. You will support project leaders in planning, design and delivery of electrical infrastructure and building services, and assist with contract administration.

Ideal candidate holds a BTech in Electrical Engineering, at least two years post-graduate experience, valid Code B driver's license, and proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

• BTech Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited University of Technology.
• Minimum of 2 years' post-graduate experience within the electrical construction sector.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or electrical design software will be advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Leaders in planning, design and delivery of electrical infrastructure and building services projects.
• Assist with contract administration throughout all project phases.
• Undertake site inspections and attend site meetings to monitor construction progress and quality.
• Prepare technical reports for all project stages: inception, design, tender, quality, and progress reports.
• Provide technical support and construction oversight during implementation phases.
• Monitor construction quality and compliance with project specifications and regulations.
• Liaise with contractors, clients and project stakeholders under guidance of Project Leaders.
• Contribute to timely delivery of projects and professional registration progress.
• Continuously develop technical knowledge and engineering skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Project Leaders in the planning, design and delivery of electrical infrastructure and building services projects.
• Assist with contract administration throughout all project phases.
• Undertake site inspections and attend site meetings to monitor construction progress and quality.

  • Tender Reports

  • Monthly Progress Reports

Experience & Expertise:

The ideal candidate will have practical exposure to the electrical construction industry and demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow within a consulting engineering environment.

Experience in one or more of the following roles will be advantageous:

• Site Assistant
• Resident Engineer Assistant
• Design Engineer Assistant
• Electrical Construction Site Engineer

Hands-on experience in electrical construction projects will be considered a strong advantage.

Key Requirements:
