Job summary

FNB Namibia in Johannesburg is seeking a Data Scientist I to help build, optimise and implement quantitative analytical methods and models that address business opportunities and support financial crime analytics under guidance.

You will work with SAS, SQL and Python to prepare data, perform basic modeling, explore trends, and translate results into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders while contributing to governance and documentation.

Qualifications

• Honours degree in a quantitative field.
• 1–2 years hands-on data analysis or analytics experience.
• Working knowledge of SAS, SQL, and Python.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end model development, implementation and governance for financial crime analytics.
• Assist with data exploration to identify trends, patterns and risks.
• Translate technical analysis into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
