Job summary

Ikwezi Mining (Pty) Ltd is seeking an IT Support Technician to assist in the setup, configuration and ongoing maintenance of plant IT equipment, networks and related systems.

You will provide MS 365 support, manage user access, monitor LAN/WAN health, and collaborate with Head Office and remote IT teams to implement effective solutions. A relevant IT qualification and 3 years’ experience are required, with a valid driver’s license and willingness to standby.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary IT qualification.
• 3 years’ IT technical support experience.
• Experience as a field technician preferred.
• Medically fit.
• Willing to work additional hours and standby.
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setup and configuration of plant IT equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and upgrades for IT systems.
• Provide MS 365 support including Office Suite issues.
• Manage user accounts and access in MS 365.
• Collaborate with Head Office and remote IT teams.
• Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN connectivity and network infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot DNS, DHCP and firewall configurations.
• Provide end-user training on IT tools.
• Manage local data backups.
• Manage local PABX solution.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the setup and configuration of PCs, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of computer hardware, software, and peripherals at the Plant
• Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on IT-related systems to ensure optimal performance and security
• Provide technical support for Microsoft 365 applications, including troubleshooting issues related to Office Suite tools, ERP, Weighbridge, CCTV, and other software and technologies
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights within the MS 365 environment
• Collaborate with Head Office and remote IT teams to resolve technical problems and implement effective solutions
• Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring reliable connectivity and smooth operation of LAN and WAN systems
• Troubleshoot network issues, including connectivity problems, DNS, DHCP, and firewall configurations
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in IT technology and propose enhancements to optimize system performance
• Provide training and technical guidance to end-users on various IT tools and applications
• Manage local data backups and solutions
• Manage local PABX solution.

Other

• Perform any other related duties in the interest of Oza Holdings as instructed.
• Work according to Integrated (Environmental and Quality) Management System requirements

Minimum Requirements

• A relevant tertiary qualification in IT
• 3 years’ experience in IT technical support.
