Liquid Thought in Cape Town is seeking a proactive IT Administrator to own local IT infrastructure, networking, and system support. You will be the first point of contact for IT issues, from password resets to complex security problems, supporting a hybrid workforce with reliable remote access.

This hands-on role suits problem solvers who enjoy variety and take pride in system security and staff productivity, with collaboration across teams and external vendors for licensing and procurement.

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years of IT administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server, and Office 365.
• Experience with remote work support and VPN setup.
• Familiarity with AI driven tools and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for IT queries across the business.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain office network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, cabling, Wi‑Fi, and printers).
• Provide end‑to‑end support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues, both in office and remote.
• Support hybrid staff with remote access setup, VPN, and troubleshooting so they can work seamlessly from anywhere.
• Administer and support user access for core business tools, amongst others Slack, TMetric, Monday.com, Jira, and GitHub.
• Manage system backups, antivirus, endpoint protection, and patch management.
• Implement and enforce IT security protocols, including access controls and password policies.
• Ensure disaster recovery readiness and contribute to business continuity planning.
• Liaise with external vendors for advanced support, licensing, and procurement.
• Evaluate and implement new IT solutions to improve efficiency and security, including AI powered tools.
• Develop internal documentation for IT procedures and provide basic training to staff.
• Support reporting and data tools such as Excel, Power BI, or SQL where relevant.
