Job summary

Ivanhoe Mines is seeking an IT Technician in Gauteng to install, configure and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, projectors and network devices across our sites, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. You will provide end-user support, manage incidents, and assist with security measures and data backup procedures while adhering to company policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience with data management and hardware/software support.
• Grade 12
• CompTIA A+ Certification
• CompTIA Network+ Certification
• Valid driver's license
• Degree or Diploma in an ICT related field (advantageous)
• CompTIA Security+ Certification
• MCSA Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate Qualification
• CCNA certified / Fortinet NSE4 - 7 (advantageous)

Responsibilities

• Reporting, Monitoring & Evaluation, Audit: Ensure that ICT reporting aligns with standards.
• Install and configure ICT equipment and software (including desktops, laptops, printers, data projectors, VC equipment, access control, handheld devices, applications).
• Maintain desktops and laptops.
• Maintain current and accrued inventory of technology hardware, software & resources (100% accuracy of asset register).
• Identify and prepare old hardware for disposal according to company policy.
• Provide support on hardware and software (including desktops, laptops, printers, data projectors, VC equipment, access control, handheld devices, applications).
• Troubleshoot and diagnose all reported issues.
• Provide 1st level network support: Troubleshooting and resolving networking issues and escalate if necessary.
• Add and set up new users on all relevant system.
• Access the Help Desk to record, accept or resolve IT calls logged.
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing of all reported issues on the helpdesk.
• Provide subject matter expertise and skills in area of responsibility; advising on solutions to enhance or ensure department effectiveness.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships and an effective communication system within the operation.
• Housekeeping (DC, UPS Room, Tech Room and Office equipment installs).
• Alert Monitoring
• Day to day cost Management (1 cost saving initiative per quarter).
• Seek own development and leaning opportunities (1 Intervention per quarter).
• Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary.
• Security Management: assisting in implementing security measures to protect systems, networks, and data from cyber threats.
• Adhere to Company policies, procedures and relevant legislation; manage non-compliance issues.
• Model behaviour with Safety, Health and Environment Vision and Values.
• Maintain healthy team relationships; share knowledge; effective communication.
