Placements24 is seeking a Junior Technical Support Officer for an internship in Soweto, Gauteng. You will work with experienced technicians, gaining hands-on experience in troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues, while you learn IT support best practices.

This internship provides extensive on-the-job training, mentorship from IT professionals, and an entry point into the IT industry. Based at the client’s Soweto office, the role offers exposure to a professional work environment

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and Windows OS.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to learn and proactive problem-solving.
• Able to follow instructions and work in a team.
• Enthusiasm for technology and IT support.
• Based in or able to commute to Soweto, Gauteng.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support to internal users and customers under supervision.
• Diagnose and resolve basic hardware, software, and network issues.
• Install and configure computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
• Log and track support requests using the helpdesk ticketing system.
• Perform routine IT maintenance tasks as directed.
• Help create and update IT documentation and user guides.
• Learn and apply IT best practices and company procedures.
• Support senior technicians on various IT projects and tasks.
