Job summary

CA Select limited is seeking an experienced IT professional to install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware, servers, and network devices on-site across client sites in Gauteng. You will deploy software, manage LAN/WAN configurations, and maintain comprehensive documentation.

The role requires a Grade 12 qualification, a Diploma or Bachelor's in IT or related field, and extensive hands-on IT experience, with willingness to travel and participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 qualification.
• Diploma or degree in IT, CS or related Engineering field is highly advantageous.
• 25 years of hands-on IT support, field service, or technical roles.
• 25 years of experience within the office automation industry.
• Proven expertise in on-site hardware/software installation and network troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Physical ability to lift and move equipment up to 25 kg and perform manual hardware tasks.
• Valid Driving Licence is essential.
• Willingness to travel frequently and participate in on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware components including servers, workstations, routers, switches, and peripherals.
• Deploy and update software applications and operating systems.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues on-site and respond to service requests.
• Set up and maintain LAN/WAN configurations for optimal connectivity.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, network diagrams, configurations, and SOPs.
• Collaborate with IT teams to implement upgrades and resolve critical issues.
• Perform testing and QA to ensure systems meet performance and security standards.
• Mentor and train junior engineers within the team.
• Manage emergency responses to critical system failures or outages.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal IT teams, including system administrators and security professionals, to implement upgrades and resolve critical issues.
• Perform rigorous testing and quality assurance checks to ensure systems meet performance and security standards.
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to junior engineers within the team.
• Manage emergency responses to critical system failures or network outages as required.
