Job summary

CA Select Limited in Stellenbosch is seeking a hands-on IT Desktop Support Technician to provide first- and second-line support across the business, reporting to the IT Manager. You will own the user experience and ensure that hardware, software, and network infrastructure stay high-performing and secure.

You will diagnose and resolve issues with PCs, printers, networks, and mobile devices, manage onboarding/offboarding, administer Active Directory and Microsoft 365, and contribute to IT

Qualifications

• 3–4 years in desktop support, service desk or similar Windows-based corporate environment
• Mandatory CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ certifications
• Strong working knowledge of Windows 10/11, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and TCP/IP networking

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive first- and second-line support in person and remotely, managing the full lifecycle of support tickets.
• Diagnose and resolve issues relating to hardware, software, printers, peripherals, and general connectivity.
• Manage user onboarding and offboarding, including the setup of workstations and user accounts.
• Administer Active Directory and Microsoft 365, handling account management, licensing, and multi-factor authentication.
• Troubleshoot wired and wireless networks, including hands-on cabling, crimping, patching, and testing.
• Support mobile devices, VPN configurations, and remote access for off-site users.
• Deploy operating system images, install software updates, and ensure compliance with IT security policies and endpoint protection.
• Maintain accurate IT asset records and document technical fixes and configuration changes.
• Conduct root-cause analysis on recurring incidents to implement long-term solutions.
• Assist with the maintenance of servers, switches, and wireless infrastructure under senior guidance.
• Automate routine tasks through PowerShell or scripting where appropriate.
• Act as an escalation point for junior staff and liaise with external suppliers for warranties and repairs.
