Our client in the pharmaceutical industry is seeking an experienced Inventory & Systems Manager to manage distribution centre inventory and implement robust inventory and systems processes that support stock accuracy, warehouse optimisation and accurate order processing. The role will also oversee inventory reporting, system updates, operational issue resolution and audit preparation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage daily inventory operations, including cycle counting, receiving, put-away, stock replenishment, storage and inventory control.
- Maintain stock accuracy by investigating and resolving discrepancies between physical and system inventory, while ensuring accurate and complete receiving documentation.
- Manage product shelf-life, traceability and non-conforming stock processes, and assist with product recalls and inventory transactions.
- Develop and implement warehouse processes and systems to improve operational efficiency, inventory accuracy and order processing.
- Ensure warehouse operations comply with applicable quality, safety and regulatory requirements, including GMP/GWP-aligned standards and procedures.
- Manage inventory systems and data integrity, including system testing, reporting, data analysis and identification of process improvement opportunities.
- Manage warehouse layout, space utilisation and stock levels to optimise inventory while minimising loss or damage.
- Develop and monitor operational metrics, KPIs, governance, risk and compliance requirements, and provide regular warehouse and inventory reports to management.
- Manage projects, system implementations and user training, while engaging stakeholders on reporting, analytical, technology and service requirements.
- Lead and support Inventory Control staff through resource planning, performance management, coaching and development.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- BSc Industrial Engineering or similar qualification.
- Good analytical working experience or relevant analytical subjects related to the degree.
- 5+ years' leadership experience within a comprehensive supply chain management environment of 40 or more employees.
- Proven leadership experience with oversight of multiple supervisors.
- Sound knowledge of relevant quality standards, safe working procedures and Health and Safety legislation, including OHS Act/ISO standards, GWP and/or cGMP, GDP and safe work practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, warehouse management systems and database systems.
- Preferred: Minimum of two years' working experience within the pharmaceutical or food industry.

They should be collaborative, adaptable and able to influence and build effective working relationships, with strong customer service, communication, active listening and decision-making skills. Effective project management, time management, presentation and operations analysis capabilities are also important for success in the role.
