Job summary

MCE Electric in Johannesburg seeks an experienced Stock and Inventory Manager to lead the stock control function across the branch/ warehouse. You will ensure stock accuracy, coordinate movements, and drive improvements in processes and reporting.

You will manage cycle counts, efficiency initiatives, and inter-branch stock transfers while coordinating with sales, marketing and returns teams to ensure availability and proper handling of products.

Qualifications

• National Senior Certificate (NQF 4) or equivalent.
• Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Inventory Management or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in inventory and stock control within wholesale/ distribution/ warehouse environments.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing a team of warehouse staff.
• Experience with ERP systems (Kerridge is advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily stock control department operations and assist with warehouse activities as needed.
• Maintain accurate bin allocations, stock locations, and prepare inventory reports.
• Coordinate stock planning, procurement and demand alignment with operational needs.
• Manage cycle counts, stock takes, discrepancies, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate inter-branch transfers and ensure accurate stock movements in the system.
• Monitor incoming shipments and back orders; track and resolve outstanding items.
• Ensure correct SKU allocation and barcode accuracy for traceability.
• Oversee safe handling, storage and movement of stock to prevent loss or damage.
• Support warehouse efficiency by ensuring stock is stored and shelves are stocked.
• Provide inventory support to sales, marketing and returns processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate inter-branch transfers (IBTs), ensuringaccuraterequesting, dispatching, receiving, and system processing of stock movements.
• Monitor incoming shipments and back orders, ensuringaccuratetracking, communication, andtimelyresolution of outstanding stock items.
• Ensure correct SKU allocation and barcode accuracy for all products, supporting traceability and system integrity.
• Oversee proper handling, storage, and movement of stock to prevent damage, losses, or inaccuracies.
• Support overall warehouse efficiency by ensuring stock is packed away timeously, shelvesremainstocked, and operational workflows aremaintained.
• Provide inventory support to sales, marketing, and returns processes by ensuringaccuratestock availability, allocations, and processing of returned items.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and warehouse operational standardsat all times.
