Job summary

Vertice MedTech Group is seeking an Inventory Controller to ensure data accuracy and effective planning for consignment inventories. You will liaise with sales, customers and warehouse to meet business requirements and improve service delivery.

The role requires 3-5 years in inventory/procurement, SAP experience is advantageous, and familiarity with WMS and RF scanners. Matric is essential; a higher diploma is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Matric Certificate is required.
  • National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree advantageous.
  • 3-5 years' experience in inventory/procurement.
  • Experience in the medical industry preferred.
  • SAP experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory levels in line with consignment location sales requirements.
  • Manage consignment inventory to reduce burden on the finance business unit.
  • Coordinate communication between the sales team, customer locations, and warehouse.
  • Engage with sales managers and unit heads to understand requirements and market conditions.
  • Manage short-dated and expired stock and support stock transfers between locations.

INVENTORY CONTROLLER: ONCS
Role Overview

The primary role of this position will be to ensure systematic data accuracy to enable the effective planning and management of consignment inventory levels. Effective communication with the sales team, customer and warehouse will be essential to drive service delivery in line with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain inventory levels in line with consignment location sales requirements, considering all open and pending transactions in the ERP system.
  • Assume responsibility for managing and controlling consignment inventory to reduce the burden on the finance business unit.
  • Facilitate communication between the sales team, customer consignment locations, and warehouse.
  • Engage proactively with sales managers and business unit heads to understand divisional requirements, growth goals, and market conditions impacting inventory.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to manage short-dated and expired stock.
  • Assist with continuous improvement of inventory processes and controls.
  • Provide analytical support to inventory and procurement teams when required.
  • Co-ordinate and administer stock transfers between customer locations, sales teams, and warehouse locations to obtain optimal regional inventory levels to support area sales.
  • Support the sales team with the management of short-dated and expired stock.
  • Capture stock returns from consignment locations accurately and timeously in SAP.
  • Record and document monthly consignment count results, including reasons for missed counts.
  • Manage and support technology or applications used for consignment inventory management.
  • Investigate and identify areas for improvement in consignment inventory management.
  • Address warehouse-related challenges such as missing or expired stock.
  • Support investigation of complex stock variances and anomalies.
  • Assist with monthly inventory counts and quarterly stock takes.
  • Produce effective reports and analysis comparing consignment stock-on-hand with reconciled inventory counts.
Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications
  • Minimum (required): Matric Certificate.
  • Preferred: National Diploma or a Bachelor's Degree will be advantageous.
Experience
  • Minimum (required): 3 - 5 years' experience within the inventory / procurement environment.
  • Preferred: SAP experience will be advantageous.
  • Proven experience in the medical industry.
Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse processes and Inventory systems (e.g., RF scanners, WMS).
  • Align all distribution department activities with the Genetic Code, Vision and Mission statements.
  • Proficiency in both written and verbal communication is essential for interacting with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Capability to stand, bend, move and lift products throughout the warehouse during working hours.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and conditions.
  • To be adaptable and willing to take on different tasks and navigate changes and collaborate effectively with others.
  • Familiarity with common office software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant programs.
  • Willingness to collaborate, quickly grasp new information, share ideas, and contribute to the success of the team.
  • It is essential for accurate inventory management, order fulfilment, and logistics coordination.
