Job summary

Exceed Human Resource Consultants is seeking an experienced Inventory Controller for our Stellenbosch facility. The role focuses on receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking electronic components and production materials to support manufacturing.

You will maintain precise records, perform cycle counts and stock takes, and drive accurate reconciliations, ensuring quality and traceability across the supply chain.

Qualifications

• N4 or higher qualification relevant to inventory/stock control.
• At least 3 years' experience in inventory control roles.
• Experience in electronics/mechatronics/engineering/manufacturing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with inventory or ERP/MRP systems.
• Valid Code B driver's licence and South African citizenship or valid work authorisation.
• Knowledge of BOMs, pick lists, part numbers, and documentation.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
• Experience handling electronic components (ESD-safe handling, MSDs) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage receipt, storage, issuing, and traceability of electronic components, mechanical parts, and production materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, perform stock reconciliations, cycle counts, and stocktakes, investigating discrepancies.
• Prepare, verify, and issue production kits; process kit returns.
• Ensure correct storage and handling of components (ESD-safe, humidity control, FIFO, shelf-life).
• Coordinate incoming goods inspections, maintain audit-ready documentation, support quality/traceability.
• Manage consumable stock, assist procurement, local collections/deliveries, prepare finished products for shipment.

Job Description

• Manage the receipt, storage, issuing, and traceability of electronic components, mechanical parts, and production materials.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, perform stock reconciliations, cycle counts, and stocktakes, while investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Prepare, verify, and issue production kits to ensure materials are available for manufacturing, and process kit returns accurately.
• Ensure correct storage and handling of components, including ESD-safe practices, humidity-controlled storage, FIFO stock rotation, and management of shelf-life materials.
• Coordinate incoming goods inspections, maintain audit-ready documentation, and support quality and traceability requirements.
• Manage consumable stock, assist with procurement, perform local collections and deliveries, and prepare finished products for shipment.

Qualifications

• National Technical Certificate (N4 minimum), relevant diploma, or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as an Inventory Controller, Storeman, or in a similar inventory or materials control role.
• Experience in an electronic, mechatronic, or engineering/manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience working with inventory or ERP/MRP systems.
• Valid Code B driver's licence and South African citizenship or valid work authorisation.
• Knowledge of inventory control processes, stock management, cycle counting, and stock reconciliation.
• Experience handling electronic components, including ESD-safe handling, moisture-sensitive devices (MSDs), and traceability requirements advantageous.
• Ability to interpret bills of materials (BOMs), pick lists, part numbers, and technical documentation.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.
