Job summary

HXP is seeking a proactive Internal Sales Representative to manage customer enquiries, generate sales, process orders and provide effective sales support to external sales representatives in the steel industry.

You will build relationships with customers, quote by phone and email, coordinate with warehouse, and liaise with external sales staff to ensure timely deliveries and accurate order processing.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years’ steel sales experience.
• Relevant product knowledge for the steel industry.
• Syspro experience will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and convert enquiries into sales.
• Handle customer complaints and queries.
• Ensure a system to capture sales enquiries/orders and monitor information.
• Quote by phone and email.
• Receive and process sales orders on Syspro.
• Source stock from approved suppliers.
• Check back orders daily and release invoices for delivery.
• Expedite deliveries of sales orders.
• Update customer discount structures on Syspro.
• Liaise with Warehouse Manager regarding deliveries.
• Work with external sales staff and accompany on visits as needed.
• Provide leads to external sales staff.
• Follow up on all quotes and liaise orders with the responsible external sales rep.
• Minimise credits and adhere to Credit Procedure.

• Candidate must have the relevant product knowledge for the specific industry as mentioned above
• Syspro experience will be an advantage

Duties and Responsibilities

• Answering of incoming calls and converting enquiries into sales
• Handling of customer complaints & queries
• Ensuring that there is a set system to capture sales enquiries/orders and monitor the information
• Quoting by phone and Email
• Receiving and processing of sales orders on Syspro
• Sourcing of stock (standard and non-standard) from approved suppliers
• Checking on back orders on a daily basis and release invoices for delivery
• Expediting of sales orders (deliveries)
• General office duties
• Updating of customer discount structures on Syspro
• Liaise with Warehouse Manager regarding deliveries
• Leasing with external sales staff
• Accompany external sales staff on customer visits as and when required
• Providing leads to external sales staff
• All quotes to be followed up
• Orders to be liaised with the responsible external sales representative
• Ensure to keep credits at a minimum and follow the Credit Procedure
