Placements24 is seeking an experienced Insurance Operations Manager to lead our Stellenbosch-based operations. You will oversee policy administration, claims processing, customer service, and regulatory compliance, driving efficiency and cost control in a dynamic market.

Working directly with the Country Manager, you will optimize workflows, implement new technologies, and mentor a diverse operations team. A hands-on leader with deep insurance knowledge will shape the region's operational

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, operations, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in insurance operations management.
• Extensive knowledge of insurance products, processes (policy administration, claims handling), and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.
• Proficiency with insurance management software and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage day-to-day operational activities including policy issuance, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations.
• Oversee claims management ensuring timely and accurate settlements and SLA adherence.
• Develop, implement, and monitor operational policies to improve efficiency and compliance.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of operational staff with a high-performance culture.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation to reduce costs.
• Ensure compliance with SA insurance regulations and legal requirements.
• Manage relationships with third-party service providers and vendors.
• Develop and monitor KPIs for operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Prepare regular operational reports for senior management with insights and recommendations.
• Collaborate with sales, underwriting, and finance for seamless integration.
