Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Information Security Manager to lead security operations and strategy in Upington, Northern Cape. The role requires a strategic leader with deep cybersecurity expertise to protect assets, data, and systems, aligning with business goals and regulatory requirements.

You will develop and oversee the entire information security program, manage a security team, and report to executive leadership. A strong track record and relevant certifications are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• 8+ years in information security with 3+ years in leadership.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing security programs.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and compliance.
• Experience in incident response, forensics, and threat intelligence.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management.
• Experience managing budgets and security teams.
• Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA (mandatory).
• Strong networking, OS, app security and cloud security understanding.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive information security strategy and roadmap.
• Lead and manage the information security team and cultivate security excellence.
• Oversee risk management activities, assessments, threat modeling and remediation.
• Manage incident response planning and rapid resolution processes.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations and standards.
• Develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Evaluate and manage security technologies and solutions.
• Conduct regular security audits and penetration tests with remediation.
• Manage relationships with vendors and service providers.
• Report security posture to executives and the board.
