Placements24 in South Africa is seeking an Information Security Engineer to join a remote-first team. You will design, implement, and manage cloud security across AWS, Azure, and GCP to protect our client’s digital infrastructure.

You will automate tasks with Python, Terraform, and Ansible, enforce security policies, conduct assessments, and lead incident response for cloud environments in a DevSecOps context.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/IT/Cybersecurity.
• 3–5 years in information security with cloud focus.
• Expertise with AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Hands-on with IAM, network security, monitoring services.
• Scripting in Python, Terraform, Ansible for automation.
• Strong networking, OS knowledge and problem-solving.
• Excellent communication and remote collaboration.
• Security certifications (AWS/Azure) desirable.
• Container security experience (Docker/Kubernetes) a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls and solutions for cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps).
• Evaluate and recommend new cloud security technologies and services.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards in the cloud.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship on cloud security best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in information security, with a strong focus on cloud security engineering.
• Proven expertise in securing major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Hands-on experience with cloud security tools, IAM, network security groups, and security monitoring services.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Terraform, Ansible) for automation.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, and cybersecurity principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team.
• Relevant cloud security certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Azure Security Engineer) are highly desirable.
• Experience with container security and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
