Job summary

Newrest in Cape Town seeks a meticulous Receiving Clerk to manage inbound stock, verify quantities against purchase orders, check temperatures, and ensure storage is correct.

The role requires timely reporting of shortages and wastage, plus proper segregation of Kosher, Halal and Western stock areas.

Experience with receiving against a PO and tablet-based recording is advantageous; you will work closely with the Stores Manager to maintain stock integrity.

Responsibilities

• Monitor inbound stock on arrival and ensure it is packed into the correct storage area on time.
• Inform relevant parties of expired stock kept in the rejected corner to avoid delays.
• Ensure wastage reports are completed daily and handed to the Stores Manager.
• Report supplier shortages daily.
• Count, weigh or measure incoming shipments to verify against invoices and orders.
• Ensure goods are received in the correct quantity and at the correct price.
• Verify temperatures and quality of received goods.
• All receiving admin is up to date for Finance.

• Monitors the products when they arrive andensures that the storeman pack it in the relevant storage area timeously.
• Inform the relevant parties of expired stockthat is kept in the rejected corner, do not allow it to remain in the area foran extended period of time.
• Ensure that the wastage report is done dailyand given to the Stores Manager
• Ensure all supplier shortages are reporteddaily
• Count, weigh or measure items of incomingshipments in order to verify information against invoices, orders, bills oflading or other records
• Ensure that the goods are received at thecorrect quantity
• Ensure that the goods are received at theagreed price
• Ensure that goods are received at the correcttemperatures
• Ensure that goods are received at the bestquality
• Ensure that goods are received at thecriteria is not met
• Ensure credit notes are completed forrejected goods
• To check that all delivery vehicles are atthe required temperatures and in a clean state and reports any variances to theStores Manager
• Ensure that all administration work forreceiving is up to date and provided to Finance for billing purposes
• Responsible for monitoring the returnsprocess and finalizing all credit notes
• Verify receipts and capture them according torequired procedures
• Investigate and resolve situations whereitems received are not properly
• documentedin the daily receipt log
• All goods received may only be receivedagainst an official purchase order. Ifno PO is available, one has to be received from the Buyer or permission must berequested from the Unit Manager if the goods can be received.
• Indicate all short or non-deliveries on thewhite board, so that it is flaqged to all Enforce proper segregation of Kosher,Halaal and Western Receiving and Storage.
• Whenreceiving the goods, the following needs to be checked before taking the stockinto the company possession.
• Ensureto create the Receipt from PO note and completed live on tablet with QTY,expiry dates, temperature recordings
• Ensureto communicate immediately if some stock was not delivered and short delivered.
• Ensureto communicate with manager and supervisor when RN are ready to be checked andvalidated daily.
• Checkstock received versus stock ordered
• Checkquality received and call the Manager, Chef or Supervisor if unsure of Quality
• Checkif PO date is correct
