Placements24 seeks an experienced Structural Engineer to join our Polokwane team, specializing in designing and assessing industrial facilities such as plants, warehouses and heavy manufacturing buildings. The role emphasizes structural integrity, safety and compliance with industry standards.

You will work with process engineers and clients to deliver robust solutions, perform advanced analyses, and supervise on-site construction activities, ensuring projects meet stringent regulatory

Qualifications

• must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr.Eng) is required
• Minimum 7 years of experience in structural engineering with emphasis on industrial facilities
• Experience with dynamic analysis, fatigue assessment, and seismic design for industrial structures
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, and Tekla Structures

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze steel and concrete structures for industrial applications (plants, pipe racks, equipment supports)
• Perform structural integrity assessments and life-extension studies for existing facilities
• Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings and specs in line with industry codes (AISC, ACI)
• Conduct site visits for construction supervision and problem solving during projects
• Collaborate with process engineers, project managers and clients to ensure safe, efficient designs
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations for industrial projects
