Placements24 is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for a client in Sandton, Gauteng. The role focuses on ensuring the reliability of plant machinery through mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic maintenance.

You will diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, install new equipment, read schematics, and keep accurate records, while adhering to safety policies and contributing to predictive maintenance programs.

Qualifications

• Must have a trade qualification (Electrician, Fitter and Turner).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on all production machinery and equipment according to schedule.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on plant equipment.
• Repair and replace faulty components, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Install new machinery and equipment as required.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to perform maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and time spent.
• Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
• Assist in the development and implementation of predictive maintenance programs.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized maintenance workshop and work areas.
