Placements24 in Rustenburg is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Engineer to ensure reliability of heavy industrial machinery at a major operation in the North West. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues, and optimize uptime across pumps, conveyors and hydraulics.
The ideal candidate holds a mechanical or electrical engineering qualification with 7+ years in industrial maintenance, preferably mining or heavy
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or ND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 7+ years in industrial maintenance, mining or heavy manufacturing preferred.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and repair of industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and industrial automation advantageous.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance on pumps, motors, conveyors, and hydraulics.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues.
- Implement preventative maintenance to reduce downtime.
- Read engineering drawings and schematics to guide work.
- Collaborate with production teams to resolve issues affecting output.
- Ensure maintenance complies with safety and environmental regulations.
