Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Equipment Technician for our George, Western Cape facility. The role focuses on installation, troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance of a wide range of industrial machinery to keep production lines running smoothly.

You will read and interpret mechanical, electrical and hydraulic schematics, perform routine maintenance, diagnose faults and coordinate with production teams to minimise downtime while upholding safety standards.

Formación

• Trade qualification as an Artisan in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience with industrial machinery.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics and blueprints.
• Strong safety awareness in an industrial environment.

Responsabilidades

• Install, commission, and test new industrial equipment at the George facility.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance on all machinery to prevent downtime.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Use diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex problems efficiently.
• Interpret drawings, manuals, and specs to guide maintenance work.
• Respond to emergency repairs promptly to minimise production downtime.
• Maintain accurate service records, including parts and time spent.
• Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company standards.
