Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician for our client in Mahikeng, North West. You will maintain heavy industrial machinery, diagnose faults, and perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.

The role requires a trade qualification and 4+ years of experience in manufacturing, with the ability to read schematics and work safely in a dynamic industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification (Electrician, Fitter and Turner, Millwright) or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or heavy industry setting.
• Proven experience with troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations in an industrial environment.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and occasional overtime as needed.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Mahikeng, North West.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system failures.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize downtime.
• Install, test, and commission new equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
• Identify and recommend spare parts needed for inventory.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for maintenance processes.
