About the Role

Our client, a dynamic player in the renewable energy sector located in Upington, Northern Cape , is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer specializing in Process Development and Scale-Up . This role is crucial for optimizing and expanding our manufacturing processes as we grow. You will be responsible for analyzing existing production methods, developing innovative solutions for new product lines, and ensuring efficient and reliable scale-up from pilot to full-scale production. The successful candidate will work closely with R&D, engineering, and operations teams to translate laboratory concepts into robust manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, yield, and cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and document new manufacturing processes for emerging products, from concept through to full-scale production.
• Design and conduct experiments to validate process parameters and ensure robust scale-up.
• Collaborate with R&D and product development teams to ensure manufacturability of new designs.
• Create process flow diagrams, equipment specifications, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment and production lines.
• Troubleshoot production issues related to process variability and equipment performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering or process engineering, with a strong focus on process development and scale-up.
• Proven experience in taking processes from R&D or pilot stages to full-scale manufacturing.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Arena, Aspen Plus) and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse technical teams.
