Placements24 in Upington, Northern Cape is seeking an Industrial Engineer to specialize in plant layout and material flow design for our processing facilities. You will optimize the physical arrangement of facilities, equipment, and workflows to maximize efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain a safe working environment.

The role requires designing and redesigning layouts, developing CAD-based layouts, and analyzing material handling systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in industrial engineering focused on plant layout and material flow.
• Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for layout design.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing principles in facility design.

Responsabilités

• Design and redesign plant layouts to optimize material flow, reduce travel distances, and improve operational efficiency.
• Develop process flow diagrams, facility layouts, and material handling system designs using CAD software.
• Analyze current material handling systems and identify opportunities for improvement or new technologies.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to understand operational needs and constraints.
• Conduct simulations and analyses to evaluate layout and material flow scenarios.
• Ensure designs comply with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Develop specifications for material handling equipment (conveyors, forklifts, AGVs).
• Assist in selection and installation of new equipment and production lines.
• Create and maintain documentation related to plant layouts and material flow.
• Contribute to capital project planning and execution for facility modifications in the Northern Cape.
