Placements24 seeks an analytical Industrial Engineer to join our client in Benoni, Gauteng. The role focuses on analyzing operational performance and building simulations to optimize complex manufacturing processes on site.

The ideal candidate will identify bottlenecks, conduct capacity planning, and deliver data-driven recommendations to improve efficiency, throughput, and resource utilization. 5+ years of experience and a related degree are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or closely related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering with a focus on operations analysis and simulation modeling.
• Proficiency in discrete-event simulation software (Arena, AnyLogic, Simio).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and scheduling.
• Excellent analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with data analysis tools and techniques.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production data, process flows, and system performance to identify key areas for improvement.
• Develop discrete-event simulation models of manufacturing processes and systems.
• Utilize simulation software to test "what-if" scenarios and evaluate the impact of proposed changes.
• Conduct throughput analysis, bottleneck identification, and capacity planning studies.
• Develop performance metrics and dashboards to track operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to validate simulation models and implement recommended solutions.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing findings, recommendations, and expected outcomes.
• Investigate and resolve operational issues by applying industrial engineering principles.
• Support the development of business cases for capital investments based on simulation results.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and modeling.
