Job summary

Communicate Recruitment is seeking an Electrical Technician to join the Stellenbosch-based operations team. This on-site role focuses on installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, working alongside engineers to ensure reliability.

Candidates should hold a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and a Wireman’s license, with strong safety awareness and hands-on problem-solving skills. Relocation to Stellenbosch is expected where required.

Qualifications

• Requires practical electrical knowledge and hands-on experience.
• Ability to read complex schematics and technical manuals.
• Strong troubleshooting and safety-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures according to specifications.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and breakdowns, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to minimize downtime.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with safety regulations and building codes.
• Assist engineers with the testing and commissioning of new electrical installations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of electrical parts.
• Operate testing equipment and diagnostic tools to identify electrical faults.
• Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
• Respond promptly to emergency calls for electrical system failures.
