Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician for a large-scale industrial facility in Mahikeng, North West. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, install new electrical systems, and ensure strict safety compliance to keep operations running smoothly.

The ideal candidate holds a relevant trade qualification, has at least four years of industrial experience, can read schematics, and is skilled with motors, VFDs and PLCs.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Electrician or Electrical Technician.
• Minimum of 4 years' experience in industrial electrical maintenance.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Experience with motors, transformers, VFDs and control circuits.
• Knowledge of electrical safety practices and OHSA regulations.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on plant electrical equipment such as motors, transformers, switchgear and control panels.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults to minimize downtime.
• Install, test and commission new electrical equipment and systems per specifications.
• Interpret schematics and manuals to guide maintenance work.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities and parts inventory.
• Troubleshoot AC/DC circuits and instrumentation.
• Respond to electrical emergencies as needed.
• Assist with safety inspections and team collaboration.
