Job summary

DP World in South Africa seeks an Import Freight Services professional to manage shipments end-to-end. You will open files, obtain rates, and ensure documentation aligns with clearing. You will coordinate with clients and international offices to finalise shipping method and rates.

You will monitor bookings, update clients on arrivals, support Event Controls in Cargowise and assist with closeout through POD and invoicing.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of Import Freight Services experience.
• Strong knowledge of forwarding, clearing, Incoterms and customs.
• Experience using Cargowise for shipping processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good decision-making abilities under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Open shipment files with numbers, obtain rates, and verify line invoice rates.
• Ensure all shipment docs are collected and forwarded to clearing.
• Gather cargo data and agree shipping method with clients and offices.
• Monitor bookings and ensure timely handover of documents to lines.
• Inform clients on shipment status and update Event Controls in Cargowise.
• Track shipments to POD and ensure timely invoice payment.
