Job summary

DP World in Cape Town seeks an experienced Import Freight Services professional to handle shipments end-to-end, from opening files to final invoicing. You will liaise with clients, carriers and international offices to ensure timelines and accuracy.

role requires 2–3 years in import freight services, strong knowledge of Incoterms and customs, and proficiency in Cargowise. The team emphasizes accuracy and customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Matric is required.
• NCFF (NQF ¾) qualification is advantageous.
• FIATA Diploma advantageous is a plus.
• Logistics or related degree/diploma advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Open shipment files, allocate file numbers and obtain landside/transport rates.
• Verify shipment documents and notify consignee, update status reports.
• Gather cargo info, confirm shipping method with client and international offices.
• Monitor bookings with shipping lines to ensure timely handover of documents.
• Inform clients about shipment arrivals and assist Controllers with event controls.
• Track shipments from indent to POD and invoice payment for timely closeout.
• Provide admin support to Ocean Freight Import team and meet client requirements.
• Obtain clearing instructions and verify BL/HBl against invoices and packing lists.
