Placements24 in Richards Bay is seeking an Event Catering Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and oversee catering for diverse events. You will liaise with clients, work with kitchen and service staff, manage logistics, and ensure the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction.

You will collaborate with the culinary team to finalize menus, confirm dietary requirements, and ensure food quality and presentation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in event coordination, catering, or hospitality management.
• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and staff.
• Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.

Responsibilities

• Liaise directly with clients to understand their catering needs, preferences, and budget, offering expert advice and solutions.
• Coordinate event logistics, including scheduling staff, managing equipment, and ensuring timely delivery and setup of catering services.
• Collaborate closely with the culinary team to finalize menus, confirm dietary requirements, and ensure food quality and presentation standards are met.
• Oversee on-site event execution, acting as the main point of contact to resolve issues and ensure a seamless guest experience.
• Manage inventory of catering supplies and equipment, ensuring proper stock levels and condition.
• Prepare event proposals, contracts, and post-event reports, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
