Placements24 in Benoni, Gauteng, is seeking a compassionate Social Worker to provide direct support, counseling, and resource navigation to vulnerable individuals and families. This hybrid role balances on-site community work in Benoni with remote case management and administrative duties within a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate holds a BSW, SACSSP registration, and 3+ years' experience in counseling, case management and advocacy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW) from an accredited institution.
• Registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
• Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in social work.
• Demonstrated experience in counseling, case management, and advocacy.
• Proficiency in using case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsabilités

• Conduct psychosocial assessments to identify client needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
• Provide individual, family, and group counseling services to clients.
• Advocate for clients' rights and access to resources, including housing, healthcare, education, and employment.
• Facilitate referrals to external agencies and follow up to ensure effective linkage.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records, documenting interventions and progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues, community partners, and other professionals to coordinate care.
• Participate in case conferences and team meetings to discuss client cases and program development.
• Develop and deliver psycho-educational workshops and support groups for community members.
• Stay updated on relevant social welfare policies, legislation, and community resources.
