About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Solar PV Project Manager to spearhead significant renewable energy initiatives in Cape Town . This role is crucial for driving the successful implementation of large-scale solar photovoltaic projects from inception to handover. You will be responsible for strategic planning, budget management, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality are met throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in solar project development and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the growth of sustainable energy infrastructure in the Western Cape.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of solar PV project development , including site assessment, permitting, design, procurement, and construction.
• Develop and manage detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring timely and cost-effective project delivery.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including engineers, contractors, and external consultants.
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, government agencies, and local communities.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality control procedures.
• Mitigate project risks and proactively address challenges to ensure project success in Cape Town .

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; PMP certification is a strong asset.
• Over 10 years of experience in project management , with a significant focus on solar PV or other renewable energy projects.
• Demonstrated success in managing large-scale, complex energy projects with multi-million Rand budgets.
• Strong understanding of solar technology, electrical systems, and construction processes.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to travel as required for site visits and project meetings.
