Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Production Technologist for our client in Bloemfontein, Free State. The role focuses on optimizing existing wells, troubleshooting operations, and implementing new technologies to boost recovery.

You will collaborate with field operations, reservoir engineers, and other disciplines in a hybrid setup. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in oil & gas production and a strong background in artificial lift, well performance analysis, and safety compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field relevant to oil and gas production.
Minimum 5 years of experience in oil and gas production operations or production engineering.
Strong knowledge of artificial lift, surface facilities, and wellbore hydraulics.
Experience with production monitoring software and data analysis techniques.

Responsibilities

Monitor and analyze well performance data, including production rates, pressures and temperatures.
Identify opportunities to optimize artificial lift systems and improve recovery.
Troubleshoot production issues such as paraffin, scale and water cut.
Assist in design and implementation of well interventions and workover programs.
Collaborate with reservoir engineers to forecast production and evaluate development scenarios.
Prepare technical reports on well performance and improvement initiatives.
