Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Production Chemist for the Welkom area. This hybrid role combines laboratory analysis with on-site process monitoring to ensure product quality and efficient mineral processing. You will apply chemical engineering principles and analytical techniques to optimize yields and maintain specifications.

In this position, you will collaborate with production teams, uphold safety and quality standards, and contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience as a Production Chemist or in a similar industrial laboratory role.
• Proficiency in analytical techniques such as AAS, ICP, GC, HPLC, and wet chemistry methods.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and specialized chemical analyses on raw materials, intermediate products, and final outputs.
• Monitor and control chemical processes to ensure optimal performance and adherence to specifications.
• Troubleshoot chemical process deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and validate new analytical methods as required.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with production teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
